Typical Life Corporation is dedicated to providing supports and services to assist individuals with disabilities to live a normal life in the community. The agency provides nineteen license residential group homes and eight unlicensed semi-independent living home serving a total of fifty-four individuals with developmental disabilities. Operations include daily household activities, such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, bathing, and recreation. In addition, the agency provides active treatment support in the form of teaching plans, the administration of medication, and the coordination of medical services.
The agency also operates two licensed adult day programs that focus on health, fitness and prevocational skills and currently serves sixty-three individuals. In-home support services are also provided to ten individuals living in their own residence.
Primary funding for the agency's operations come from department of public welfare medical assistance through the Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs (94.6%). Pennsylvania State base funding from York/ Adams County Mental Health/ Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Program, along with rental income, fund raising and dividends provide the balance of Typical Life Corporation revenues.
